PTTGC delays ethane cracker decision

PTTGC America is delaying its investment decision regarding a potential ethane cracker plant in Belmont County, Ohio, USA.

A final investment decision (FID) on the project is expected to be reached at the end of 2017.

Toasaporn Boonyapipat, president and ceo of PTTGC America said the company has been working with two engineering, procurement and construction contractors to complete the engineering design work of the complex.

“Upon receipt of their initial plans, we recognised a need for further discussions with each of them so that we will be in a stronger position to make our decision on the engineering design and the economic feasibility of this project. We expect this process to take several additional months,” said Boonyapipat.
