Wind turbine manufacturer Senvion signed a conditional engineering, procurement and construction contract with Nexif Energy for the 25-turbine Glen Innes wind farm in New South Wales and the 59-turbine Lincoln Gap wind farm in South Australia.
Both wind farms will feature the new Senvion 3.6M140 turbine; the combined capacity of both projects is approximately 300 MW.
Raymond Gilfedder, ceo and managing Director of Senvion Australia said: “The next few years will be a busy time for the wind industry in Australia,” adding, “the 3.6M140 turbine is particularly well suited to the Australian market”.
The new Senvion 3.6M140 turbine has an 20 percent higher energy yield at wind speeds of 7.5 m/s compared to its preceding model, and the lifetime has been extended by 25 percent from 20 to 25 years.
