Bilfinger has been awarded a contract for the rebuilding of a methanol plant that is being relocated from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to West Virginia, USA. The customer is a West Virginia-based company, Liberty One Methanol (US Methanol).
Work will commence in late April 2017 and will be completed in early 2018.
Methanol supply shortages in the region are driving this project and it is expected to be the first of several regional methanol relocation projects being carried out by US Methanol.
Tom Blades, ceo of Bilfinger: “The contract for the rebuilding of a methanol plant is a great success. We view the North American market with high interest due to its current size and potential to outpace the overall global economy in the coming years.”
