The following three oil and gas projects were reported in the October 23, 2017 edition of Capital Projects and Contracts (CapProCon).

MHWirth awarded White Rose package

MHWirth won a contract from Wood Group Canada for the delivery of a drilling package, including equipment, engineering and services, for the West White Rose project.

Husky Energy, together with its co-venture partners, is developing the oil and gas project offshore Canada.

“Being awarded this project represents an important milestone for MHWirth,” says Finn Amund Norbye, ceo of MHWirth. “This is the first complex offshore drilling package awarded in the market in the past several years.”

Batangas EPCM awarded to Fluor

Fluor was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract for JG Summit.

The deal is for utilities, offsites and infrastructure work for a petrochemical complex expansion in Batangas City, the Philippines.

“JG Summit is the sole cracker operator in the Philippines and we are pleased to support their expansion program,” said Ken Choudhary, president of Fluor’s energy and chemicals business for the Asia-Pacific region.

Aker Solutions wins umbilical deal

Aker Solutions won an order for 250 km of steel-tube umbilicals linking a subsea development to an existing offshore platform.

The work will be led by Aker Solutions in Oslo, Norway and manufacturing will take place at the company’s umbilicals plant in Moss. Delivery is set for the end of 2018.

Luis Araujo, chief executive officer of Aker Solutions, said the contact is “groundbreaking in terms of the size and technology of the umbilicals system”.
